Childhood memories
It's funny how when you're a child, the world just seems like constant and endless fun.
A big playground if you will.
Small things like parks and bubbles elicit such delight, joy and laughter with no comparison in the 'adult' or 'real' world. Everything in the real world that makes you happy either has a big price tag along with it or causes immeasurable pain afterwards.
There's something about growing up that's not all it cracked up to be.
When I was younger, I used to dream that when I hit 16 or even 18, I'd be driving on my own and I'd have long flowing black hair and all the guys would fall in love with me.
Ha.
None of those things are even true.
The only thing that stayed true was my goal to become a doctor.
I also thought that my Prince Charming would have swept me off my feet by now.
Now i know that there is no such being. No person will ever tell you the complete truth, nor ever love you so endlessly and so passionately that all they see is you. No guy will ever be there completely for you. 'Trust no-one at your age' my parents told me.
I should've.
Instead, I am resolved to consoling myself with the posts in a blog that no-one but me will read.
So, here's a life lesson to anyone reading this (if anyone):
Everyone lies and everything changes, so in the end, when you find the people that you can trust with not only your life, but also your heart, then hold on to them tightly and never let them go.
Maybe I've met those people, maybe I haven't. Who knows at this age.
Anyway some food for thought; would it hurt more to die by gunfire or by sword?
Modern or old?
Hmm.
Til next time...
x
